These substances will increase the levels of stress rather than reducing. Despite alcohol being a depressant when consumed in large quantities, it is not an effective way of managing the stress. Getting more sleep is a simple way that can help a stressed person to reduce the stress levels. This is because lack of sleep has been identified as a cause of stress. There are also some relaxation techniques that one might try to help them reduce stress. Majority of these relaxation techniques have been tried and tested.

The other way of dealing with stress is through doing exercise. Stress is characterized by the increasing levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. Exercise can therefore boost the production of these hormones. Iit is not, however, necessary that the exercise be vigorous. Walking in fresh air can also be useful. A more permanent situation is the incorporation of physical activities in your daily routine.

Exercise helps in stress management following certain mechanisms. Exercise has the effect of pumping endorphins into the body. These are brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters. The irritations of the day can be forgotten following an exercise session. Another way on how exercise reduces the stress levels is by improving someone’s mood. Improving the moods of a person is as a result of increased confidence, and lowering symptoms of depression.
